Changing the world one student at a time.

Mission Statement

Advocating for students with Down syndrome by providing skills, knowledge, and resources for families and educators.

How we can help.

Don’t feel discouraged, become educated.

Don’t feel frustrated, become empowered.

Don’t feel defeated, become an advocate.

Sharing the skills, knowledge, and resources Tamara has learned over the years is what she does best.

Mentoring others and communicating how Alex has been able to reach his goals is his strength.

Let us make a difference together in your child’s education!

IEP Review and Reform

We will ensure your IEP (Individual Education Program) is well written, has accurate present levels of functioning, academic performance, and measurable goals; verifying that the appropriate services and supports are in place to meet those goals.

ARD Representation

A man and woman shake hands in a ARD meeting. The woman is a down syndrome advocate acting as representation during an ARD meeting.

We will not only draft formal letters, responses, and written requests to school and district officials to obtain information or services on behalf of your child, we will be present to assist you at the actual ARD (Admissions, Review and Dismissal) meeting.

Educational Records &

Classroom Placement

Library of books and educational records/placement

We will review and provide feedback on your educational records including but not limited to: assessments, report cards, IEP, goals, emails, observations, etc. ensuring proper support and placement of your student in the classroom.

Our Story

As an owner of Dallas Down Syndrome Advocate, LLC, I (Tamara M. White) have been involved in the special education community advocating on behalf of children for over 19 years. My unexpected journey as an advocate began in an effort to secure services for Alex, my own son with Down syndrome. Sharing the Down syndrome educational tools I have mastered over the years is a calling and mission for me personally.

Today, Alex and I work as a team and are dedicated to educating families by equipping them with the training and information they need to successfully navigate the special education system. We are advocates for inclusion and will be persistent in getting the services and resources your child needs to succeed in the classroom.
